Dr. Kelsey Shields is a trumpet performer, music educator, arranger, and sheet music publisher. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a Master of Music in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from Truman State University. Her students regularly earn excellent solo contest ratings and make middle and high school honor band ensembles. As a performer, Kelsey has won International Trumpet Guild competitions and played in numerous brass quintets, orchestras, jazz bands, and concert bands, including the Eastman Wind Ensemble. She studied trumpet with Dr. Keith Benjamin, James Thompson, Douglas Prosser, and Dr. Gregory Jones.
