Cari Stevens is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer working and living in Los Angeles. She’s an active participant in LA’s creative music community, working extensively in a wide range of styles as a performer, composer, and recording artist.
As a teacher, she welcomes students of all ages and skill levels, tailoring lessons to each individual’s unique goals and learning styles. She aims to inspire curiosity, creativity, and facility, incorporating music theory and musicianship skills while working on the music that most interests each student. With her youngest pupils, a focus is placed on tactile learning, musical games, and improvisations, deepening their understanding of music to carry with them as they grow.
Cari’s experience teaching spans over 9 years and many capacities, having taught piano and choir in high school, assisting Yeko Ladzekpo through the Community Arts Partnership (CAP), developing curricula for various courses and class sizes, and for the past 7 years, teaching one-on-one lessons in voice, piano, theory, and more.
